Apparently Lake Eyre South had seen a dust or sand storm. This made it much harder to find for the clueless because of the colouring of the previously white salt, even when someone says to you: down there’s the shore, you’ll know when you are there. But we did, after all, know when we were there.
While from the North the lake system is currently flooded from storms months ago, we didn’t get our feet wet in the least. Note to self: read up on salt lakes.
