Next stop: Guadeloupe.
Why and how did I choose Guadeloupe? First fun fact: it came up as a French course destination. (Various people have commented on this with: But the accent! It’s official: I don’t care.) Secondly, I had to look it up because I wasn’t a 100 % sure where it is. Honestly, could you find it on a blind map?
In addition, as I’m going to spend this vacation on my own, I thought a language class would be a good opportunity to meet people, learn more French of course and have some structure in my days. I’m going to explore the islands, but lots of downtime at the beach is planned as well.
Preparations are in full swing: The flight attendants of my airline plan to go on strike, and I have started panicking. (I’m not kidding.)
The hotel is booked, the language course awaits and the packing list is getting longer. Although I should be fine with my passport and credit card, my sun hat, sun screen and French books have conspired and started a pile to be packed.
What would you like to know about Guadeloupe or the journey (AKA what should I write about)? What should I explore? Any recommendations?
